Samuel R. Guzzardo, 82, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016 in his home in Holcomb, IL. Sam was born July 28, 1933 to Tony and Frances (Bacino) Guzzardo in Rockford, IL. He married Kay Frances Hunt on December 12, 1959 at the Rochelle United Methodist Church. Sam proudly served with the United States Marine Corps. He then worked for Swift and Frito-Lay as a maintenance engineer. He is preceded in death by his brother, Frank Guzzardo.

Sam is survived by his wife, Kay of Holcomb; three children: Tony Guzzardo of Rochelle, Fran Guzzardo of Lakeville, MN and Nick (Michelle) Guzzardo of Janesville, WI; seven grandchildren: Katie Friestad, Amanda Snyder, Sam Michael, Micah and Dillon Guzzardo, Nicole Olsen and Jessica Huber and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle, 815-562-4534 with Pastor Dave Rogula officiating. The visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, January 29 at the funeral home. Cremation rites will follow the service.
