Rochelle

Sandra K. Colwill, 79, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 8, 2018 with her family by her side at St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL. Sandy was born January 9, 1939 to Arthur and Virginia (Vogeler) Seitz in Rochelle, IL. She married Wendell (Pal) Colwill on December 15, 1956 in Rochelle. Sandy enjoyed reading, cooking and sewing. She was a skilled seamstress and made many of her daughters' clothes when they were young. She also had in incredible knack for decorating and creating a beautiful home for her family. Sandy was an avid card player, involved in many bridge clubs over the years and in the last few years in a 500 club with Pal. She and Pal loved spending time doing many different things together, especially playing cards and backgammon, dancing and traveling. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Richard Seitz and her niece, Sherry Seitz.

Sandy is survived by her husband of 61 years, Pal, of Rochelle; three daughters: Beth (Ron) Egland of Rochelle, Meg Colwill of North Liberty, IA and Cathy Colwill of Oak Brook Terrace, IL; three grandchildren: Brianne (Paul) Hofferkamp of Oswego, IL, Adam Egland of Rochelle and Jeff Egland of Rockford, IL; great granddaughter, Addison Egland; and sister-in-law, Peggy Seitz of Rochelle.

The visitation will be from 9:00 - 10:15 A.M., Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Rochelle United Methodist Church, 709 4th Ave., Rochelle. The funeral will follow at 10:30 with Pastor Rob Hamilton officiating. Burial will be at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.
