Scot A. Sparks, 61, of Rochelle, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at UIC Medical Center in Chicago, IL. He was born on Nov. 25, 1950 in Huntington, IN the son of Dale C. and Carolyn (Dyson) Sparks. In 1972, he received his Bachelors of Science degree in Agronomy from Purdue University in W. Lafayette, IN. Scot married Cherryl R. Behrmann on June 17, 1972 in Indianapolis, IN. He was an Agricultural Sales Manager for Hintzsche Fertilizer Inc. in Maple Park, IL.
Scot had a lengthy 17 year struggle with liver and kidney issues. He and his family wanted him to have one more chance at a normal, healthy life. His 3rd and last transplant was on Feb. 29th at UIC Medical Center. Scot's family is so appreciative of the surgeons, nurses and support staff that have taken such great care of him. They have made this struggle easier for him and his entire family. Scot and his family will be forever grateful to the families of the anonymous donors who gave him a chance at a healthy life. Even though Scot left this life too early, he leaves us with a legacy in lessons of resilience, perseverance and strength. He will be forever missed and loved by his family and friends. Through the years, he never gave up, but in the end, he went peacefully with his family by his side.
