Shane M."Dink" Meyers, age 29, of Steward, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, IL after a sudden illness. He was born on May 18, 1980 in DeKalb, IL the son of Larry L. and Cynthia L. (Babler) Meyers. Shane graduated from Rochelle Township High School and from Kishwaukee Community College in Malta, IL.
He was an auto mechanic and was employed by Autozone in Rochelle. Shane loved watching NASCAR, NHRA: drag racing, down hill skiing, and bowling.
Survivors include his mother Cindy Meyers of Steward, IL; father: Larry (Pat) Meyers of Elizabeth, Co; Sisters: Michelle"Mic" (Duane) Snode of Steward, IL and Robin "2-E" (Grant) Hoffman of South Elgin, IL; girlfriend: Amanda Sage of Rochelle, IL; grandmother: Edna Meyers of Freeport, IL; step brother Brian Roney of Columbus, MS; nieces and nephew: Alexandra, Gabrielle, Delaney, Charley and Auggie.

Memorial services at Faith Lutheran Church on Saturday, March 20, 2010 in Rochelle, IL, with Rev. Steve Dow at 11:00 AM. Visitation at Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle, on Friday, March 19, 2010 from 5 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to St. Alexius Medical Center. Cremation rites have been accorded.
