Sheila I. Jerding, 69, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015 in Rockford, Illinois due to complications from a recent stroke. Sheila was born November 28, 1945 to Walter S. and Marjorie G. (Hiland) Engh in DeKalb, IL. She married Michael P. Jerding on June 24, 1967 in DeKalb. Sheila worked as a secretary/office manager for many years in the insurance and optometry industry. She was a kind, generous person who loved spending time with her friends and family as well as meeting new people. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Sheila is survived by her daughter, Angela M. Jerding-McConkey of Rochelle, son, Michael G. (Aimee) Jerding of Rockford, brother, Bernard (Dianne) Engh of DeKalb, three granddaughters: Kira McConkey, Jacey and Carly Jerding and four nephews: Bernie (Joann) Engh, Brian (Bridgette) Engh, Brandon (Donna) Engh, and Benjamin (Julie) Engh.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, January 31, 2015 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 236 Kelley Drive, Rochelle, with Father Johnson Lopez officiating. The visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St, Rochelle. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family.
