Sherry C. Seitz, 50, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016 at home in Rochelle. Sherry was born April 11, 1966 to Richard P. and Peggy A. (Powell) Seitz in Rochelle, Illinois. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Margaret and Clifford Powell and Arthur and Virginia Seitz; and her father on May 21, 2016.

Sherry graduated from Rochelle Township High School in 1984 and Rock Valley College with a degree in respiratory therapy. She worked at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis for 26 years; many years in the lung transplant unit. Sherry did mission work in inner city St. Louis, was an artist and photographer, and most of all a great friend to everyone who knew her. Sherry always thought of others and did whatever she could for them, whether family, friend, or church member. Even when very ill, her main concern was for her family and friends.

Sherry is survived by her mother, Peggy, of Rochelle; two sisters: Kim Pierce of Rochelle and Amy (Daniel) Hust of Phoenix, AZ; five nieces and nephews: Tim (Kathleen) Isley, Kelly (Tony) Musselman, Carly (Nate) Vogeler, Cody and Hannah Hust; and six great nieces and nephews: Andrew, Natalie and Connor Isley, Calli Isley, Brooke and Jack Musselman; long-time friend, Sherri Smith; and her second family - her friends in St. Louis.

The memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle, IL with Pastor Darrel Jung officiating. There will be a visitation one hour before the service at the funeral home from 10:00 - 11:00 on Saturday. Cremation rites are accorded by the Unger-Horner Funeral Home.
