Sonja Dell Swope, 65, passed away Monday, August 18, 2025 at Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb, Illinois.  Sonja was the daughter of Clifford G. and Bulah (Lewis) Swope; born on May 16, 1960 in Rochelle, IL. She graduated from Rochelle Township High School in 1978.

Before retiring in 2010, Sonja worked for Rochelle Foods and Avery Dennison. She enjoyed doing ceramics.

Sonja is survived by her sister, Sarah Hunter of Snow Hill, NC; two nieces: Barbara (Josh) Phillips of Lucoma, NC and Samantha (Terrace) Edwards of Stantonsburg, NC and great niece, Anais Edwards.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Bulah Swope.
