Stanley W. Dettman, Jr., 69, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017 at his home in Rochelle. Stan was born on April 8, 1948 to Stanley W. and Margaret Ilene (Morris ) Dettman in Rochelle. He married Marsha Ann Knisely on July 1, 1978 in the St. George Temple in Utah.
He is predeceased by his parents and brother-in-law, Jim Frolic.
Stan is survived by his wife, Marsha, of Rochelle; three children: Thomas (Reagan) of Rochelle, Nathan of DeKalb, and Jason; sister Rebecca Frolic of Sandwich, IL; six grandchildren: Madelyn and Aidan Dettman, Bryton, Connor, Spencer and Austin DiSimoni; nephew: Mike (Laura) Frolic and their girls, Hannah and Rebecca; and cousins: Dave Meisner, Chuck and Janet Gentry, Jeannie Leffelman, Sally Timmons and many other reunion relatives.
A very special thank you to the loving, dedicated, and professional staff of Serenity Hospice and Home. Gratitude also to all those Church branch members and wonderful friends and relatives who prayed, visited, sent cards, and helped take care of Stan's needs.
The visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M., Thursday, November 9, 2017 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, November 10 at the funeral home with Branch President George Walters officiating.
