Stanley George Meister, 89, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Rochelle Rehab and Healthcare Center. He was born on May 15, 1928 in the Sublette Hospital in Sublette, IL to George and Alta Bernice (Jones) Meister. He married Agnes Grothen on October 1, 1960 in LaMoille Clarion Lutheran Church. Stanley worked for many years at Swift at a meat cutter prior to retiring. He enjoyed fishing and loved gardening. Stanley especially enjoyed his onions and radishes. He is preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Tom Grothen.

Stanley is survived by his wife, Agnes; nieces and nephews, Henry "Hank" (Christine) Grothen, Brenda (Dr. David) O'Donnell, and Julie Schmidt; and seven great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be from 10-10:50 A.M. Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6 ^th St., in Rochelle. A funeral service will follow the visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Greg Hoffmann officiating. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church.
