Obituary

Stanley "JR" Smith, 68, of Rochelle passed away Friday, January 31, 2020 at the UW Health University Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Stan was born May 21, 1951 in Hazard, Kentucky, the son of Stanley and Eula Mae Smith . He married Terri Woolbright on October 20, 2016 in Oregon, IL.

Stan is survived by his wife, Terri, of Rochelle; a son, Brian (Skye) Smith, of DeKalb; grandchildren Hayley, Johnathan, Harmony, Hunter, and Stella; a step-daughter, Randi (Jaime) Jarrett of Davis Junction; three brothers, Floyd (Sherry) Smith, Herman (Linda) Smith, and Ricky (Pam) Smith, all of Rochelle; six sisters, Geneva (Rich) Sisson, Helen (Sonny) Pena, Wilma (Jerry) Adamski, Laura (Joe) Williams, all of Rochelle, Peggy (Doug) Waugh of Maquoketa, Iowa, and Connie (Ray) Humes of Rochelle; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Stan is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ronnie.

Cremation care has been provided. Memorial visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 P.M. Friday, February 7, 2020 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St. in Rochelle . A memorial service will follow at 7:00 P.M. with Pastor Lowell Woolbright officiating. There will also be a Celebration of life lunch at the Rochelle VFW Feb. 23 at 12:00 PM.
