Stella G. Kingdon, age 92 of Rochelle, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008 at her home.
She was born on Aug. 19, 1916 in Madison, MN the daughter of Gilbert E. and Sylvia A. (Jordal) Oleson. She married Frederick James Kingdon on June 26, 1937 in Creston, IL and celebrated their 71st anniversary. Fred and Stella farmed all their life east of Creston until they retired and moved to Rochelle. For 13 years, Stella was a cafeteria manager for the Malta School District. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Creston and belonged to church circle groups; Member of Rochelle Garden Club and served as president 5 different years. Stella was an avid card player and enjoyed playing card games with her grandchildren she also enjoyed fishing, gardening, quilt making, and sewing. She was preceded by her parents 3 brothers: Ordine, Eugene and Gordon and sister: Minnervile Larson.

Survivors include her husband: Fred of Rochelle; 3 daughters: Liz Weaver of Phoenix, AZ, Mary (Fred) Heal of Mason City, IL and Janet (Gene) Roinas of Creston, IL; 2 brothers: Howard (Jeanne) Oleson of Orlando, FL and Merle (Iva) Oleson of Rockford; sister: Edith Ebens of Chana, IL; 10 grandchildren: Tom Roinas, Tammy (Vic) Cotto, Tim (Carla) Roinas, Tracy (Scott) Langan, Kimberly (Greg) Barta, Lisa (Jeff) Bradbury, Jon Weaver, Jim Heal, Brad (Rum Perez) Heal, Julie (Paul) Behrends and 21 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle, on Monday, Dec. 1, 2008 at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Sarah Schaffner. Visitation will be at Unger-Horner from 1 to 2 PM Monday, prior to the service. Memorials to Ogle County Hospice. Burial at Lawnridge Cemetery.
