Stephen "Steve" W. Lang, passed away on his 58th birthday, Tuesday, February 15, 2011 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born on February 15, 1953 to Clarence "Pat" and Helen Parsley Lang. Steve was a talented artist, mostly water colors and pencil drawings. He also painted signs for several years. He graduated from Rochelle Township High School in 1971, and attended Kishwaukee College. He then worked as an art director at a Rockford TV station and later worked at Del Monte #199. Predeceased by his grandparents.
Survived by his parents: Pat and Helen Lang of Rochelle; 2 brothers: Jeff (Nancy) Lang, of Geneseo, and Doyle Lang of Ocean Springs, MS; and his sister: Mari (Mike) Ward of Poplar Grove. Steve was proud of his nieces and nephews: Melanie (Jeff) Reimann of San Diego, Jessica (Shane) Lansford of Monroe Center, Julianne Ward of Poplar Grove, Jonathon Lang of Indianapolis, Jason Ward of Chicago, Alex Lang of Rochelle, and Colby Lang of Geneseo.

Funeral mass will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, February 18, 2011 at the St. Patrick Catholic Church. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 4 - 7 PM at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th ST. Rochelle. Burial at the St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Sinnissippi Foundation or to Ogle County Hospice.
