Steven C. Brackemyer, 66, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016. Steve was born in Morrison, IL on February 26, 1950 to Jacob J. and Dorothy (Meyer) Brackemyer. He graduated from Morrison High School and attended North Central College, Sauk Valley Junior College and then graduated from Northern Illinois University. He married his high school sweetheart Nadine Olson on August 29, 1969 in Morrison.

Steve was a teacher and coach at Rochelle Township High School for many years. He was a life-long Cub's fan and enjoyed bass fishing, participating in many competitions. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Steve is survived by his wife, Nadine; two sons: Scott (Jessica) Brackemyer of Cortland, IL and Nathan Brackemyer of Rochelle; four grandchildren: Steven Sims, Kalyn, Tyler and Brady Brackemyer; sister, Malinda (Don) Galloway and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be a memorial visitation from 1:00 - 4:00 P.M., Friday, March 11, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church, 1100 Calvin Road, Rochelle. The memorial service will follow at 4:00 P.M., Friday with Rev. Dr. James Tilley officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded by the Unger-Horner Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family.
