Sylvester R. Rapey, 83, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 in his home in Steward. Sylvester was born on June 2, 1934 to Joseph and Josephine (Brozik) Rapey in Milwaukee, WI. He married Geraldine Helen King on August 9, 1958 in Milwaukee and she preceded him in death on October 12, 1999. In addition to his wife and parents, he is also predeceased by his siblings: Raymond, Richard, Joseph and Mary Ann Rapey.
Sylvester is survived by five children: Yvonne (Terry) Lacher of Sussex, WI, Deborah Rapey of Racine, WI, Susan (Joseph) Mikolic of Channahon, IL, Michael (Beth) Rapey of Naperville, IL and Tabitha (Jason) Hayes of Earlville, IL; eight grandchildren: Jennifer Lacher, Stephanie Roeglin, Jason Lacher, Eric Ignarski, Dana Moldenhauer, Nick Lang, Ashley and Taylor Hayes; and eight great grandchildren: Nathan, Gavin, Anara, Kira, Elizabeth, Sadie, Hannah Marie and Logan.
