Obituary

Tammy Jo Kettleson (Riggs), of Rochelle, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, in Rochelle surround by family. She was born on February 4, 1958, in Davenport, Iowa.

Tammy’s life was marked by warmth, generosity, and a deep love for her family and friends. Early in her adult life, she met her husband Jon, beginning a partnership that blossomed into a lifelong bond. After marrying, they settled in Rochelle, where Tammy’s vibrant personality and welcoming spirit made her a beloved part of the community through her work at the Country Club and the Beacon.

Later, Tammy embarked on a new chapter with Lifetouch, where she worked for 30 years. Her passion for photography flourished during this time and continued into retirement through her work with Williams Group Photography. Capturing moments behind the lens brought her joy and allowed her to share her creative spirit with others.

Tammy’s greatest joy was spending time with her family—especially her grandchildren. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Jon Kettleson; her sons: Andrew Kettleson and Tony (Kara) Kettleson; daughter‑in‑law, Katie; and her seven cherished grandchildren: Jack, Charlie, Henry, Luke, Liam, Logan, and Livy Kettleson. She is also mourned by her siblings: Dot (Jake) Richards, Bobby (Gail) Riggs, and Judy Riggs, stepmother, Sharon Riggs, along with many nieces, nephews, great‑nieces, great‑nephews and friends who were all an important part of her life.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Cindy Riggs-Bowman; mother, Geneva Green; father, Robert Riggs Sr; and stepfather, Bob Green.

Tammy embraced life fully—whether it was traveling to Aruba, caring for her beloved animals, or girls’ trips with “The Rowdies,” she found joy in connection, shenanigans, and laughter. She had a warm heart and a sassy streak that made every moment with her twice as fun. Her kindness touched many lives and left lasting impressions on all who knew her.

A heartfelt thank you goes to her niece, Hailey Kettleson, for the unwavering support and care she provided to Tammy over the past year.

Tammy’s memory will live on through the countless lives she touched with her compassion and fun light-hearted spirit. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.

Services will be held at a later date. Cremation care has been provided by the Unger-Horner Funeral Home of Rochelle. Visit www.ungerhorner.com to sign the online guest book.
