Terry Lee Mitchell, lovingly known as Teri, 72, of Rochelle, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, leaving behind a legacy as big as her heart.

Born on April 24, 1953, in Rockford, IL; Teri was the beloved daughter of Ruby Bedford. She spent many years working for Del Monte in Rochelle, where her hard work, kindness, and sense of humor left a lasting mark on everyone she met. She retired from Del Monte, carrying with her the friendships and memories she made along the way.

Teri was a true character, full of life, laughter, and love. She loved thrifting, hunting for treasures, and had a special connection with animals of all kinds. She enjoyed watching true crime documentaries and relaxing with a cup of coffee, always finding peace in life's simple moments. An old soul at heart, Teri found joy in the music of generations past, and her love for life was infectious.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Scott, with whom she shared many cherished years. She will be deeply missed by her four daughters — Sascha, Sara, Shawna, and Emily — the pride and joy of her life. Teri is also survived by her siblings: Kathy, Jeannie, and Louie; her cherished grandchildren: Ryne, Malik, Matea, Shanteya, Breanna, Makhai, and Navaeh; her beloved great-grandchildren: Kaidin, Lincoln, and Everly; and countless relatives and friends whose lives she brightened.

Teri was truly a legend in her own right. Her spirit, humor, and love of life will be remembered fiercely, and her legacy of joy, warmth, and laughter will live on in everyone she touched.

Her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace and reunited with loved ones who passed before her. Teri's memory will forever shine through the stories, laughter, and love she shared.

A celebration of her life will be held from 1 P.M.-7 P.M. on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at the Spring Lake Marina, 121 South 8th St., Rochelle.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with final expenses.
