Thadd Davis Lager, age 36, of Rochelle, IL went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Loyola University Hospital of Maywood, IL after a courageous four and a half year battle with Leukemia. He was born on July 6, 1971 at Waupun Memorial Hospital, Waupun, WI. The loving son of David and Linda ( Sell ) Lager of Markesan, WI. Thadd was baptized at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, Ripon, WI, and was confirmed at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Fairwater, WI. Thadd graduated from Markesan High School class of 1989. He attended the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and graduated from Blackhawk Technical College, majoring in Landscaping and Turf Services.

Thadd was a member of New Hope Fellowship Church of God, Kings, IL where he served on the leadership team. He was a man who lived out his Christian faith by showing his love of God to his family, friends and all he came in contact with.
He was previously employed at La Rosa Landscaping of Mequon, WI, and Nestle Distribution Center in DeKalb, IL. In 1998 he started his own business, Lager Landscaping Co. Inc. of Rochelle, IL in which he took great pride in his work. His favorite pastimes were being with his family, friends and playing golf.

Thadd married Kerri Lynn Cotterill of Markesan, WI, his high school sweetheart and best friend on Aug. 26, 1995 at Terrace Shores Ev. Free Church in Markesan, WI. He was the loving father of Hannah Lynn 7, and Tanner Davis 4. They were truly the love of his life.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clemens and Laura Sell and paternal grandparents, Rollin and Eleanor Lager.
Thadd is survived by his wife and children, as well as his parents, three brothers : Brian Lager of Markesan, WI; Tavis Lager of Peoria, Az.; and Clint ( Nancy ) Lager of Las Vegas, NV; and his in-laws : Roger and Peggy Cotterill of Markesan, WI.

He is further survived by brothers and sisters in-law: Wayne and Kelly Glover of Rochelle; Dave and Kim Doty of Fond du Lac, WI; Mark and Kris Strelow of Markesan, WI; Michael and Kayla Glover of Princeton, WI; and Todd and Kelly Cotterill of Markesan, WI. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.

Visitation will be from 4 - 7 PM on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home 400 N. 6th Street, Rochelle, IL.
Funeral service will be held at 3 PM on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at the Terrace Shores Ev. Free Church, W3278 County Rd. K, Markesan, WI. There will also be a visitation prior to the funeral at the church on Thursday from 12:00 to 2:30 PM.

In lieu of Flowers, a memorial has been established to the Thadd Lager Family, care of Lincoln State Bank, 304 E. Hwy 38, Rochelle IL.

Burial will be in the Markesan Memorial Park, Markesan, WI.
