Obituary

Theodore E. Jaeger, 83, of Lindenwood, IL passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2009
at the Ogle County Hospice House in Oregon. He was born on Aug. 16, 1925 in
Lindenwood, IL, the son of Theodore and Esther (Timm) Jaeger. He attended Lindenwood
Elementary School, Rochelle Township High School and the University of IL. He married Helen
Therese Valiulis on Dec. 27, 1952 and she preceded him after 44 years of marriage on May 25, 1996.

Ted served with the U. S. Navy Construction Battalions from 1943 to 1946 during WWII in the South Pacific, Philippines and Japan. He was then attached to the Glenview Naval Air Station until Honorable Discharge. Life member of VFW Post 3878 of Rochelle and served as Commander 1993-1994 as well as other capacities. Ted was a member of St. Patrick
Catholic Church in Rochelle and served on several committees; member of Knights of Columbus-Father O'Brien Council of Rochelle. Previously a member of Father Kunkel Council
of Byron, serving in several officer positions including that of Grand Knight. He was self-employed by Brink & Jaeger Construction, Inc. for 38 years, having built many fine homes in the
area.

Served as a volunteer fireman for 40 years with the Lynn-Scott-Rock Fire Protection District with 5 of those years as Assistant Chief. Served on the Board of Directors of Ogle County
Mutual Fire Insurance Co. for 16 years and 12 of those years as Secretary-Manager. He served
6 years on the Rochelle Township High School Board of Education with 4 years as Board President. Served on the Board of Directors of United Farm Mutual Reinsurance Co. of Peoria, IL for 8 years. Served on the Board of Directors of Bradford Mutual Insurance Company from 1989 to 1992.

Survivors include Son: Brian Jaeger of Lindenwood; Daughters: Deborah Jaeger of Rochelle
and Rita (Dennis) Gorsuch of Lindenwood, IL; brothers: Donald (Therese) Jaeger of Rockford and Norman (Donna) Jaeger of Lindenwood; 2 grandchildren: John Garrison Gorsuch and Carmen Elena Gorsuch.

Services will be at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Monday, June 8, 2009 at 10:00. Visitation
will be Sunday at Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St, Rochelle, from 2 to 4 PM. Burial at St. Patrick Cemetery in Rochelle with Military Services by VFW Post 3878 at a later date. Memorials to Good Samaritan Fund @ Wesley Willows in Rockford, IL.
