Timothy Joseph Hayes, 77, of Rancho Mirage, CA passed away on June 6, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Newman Hayes and Mary Jane Florin Hayes; and stepdaughter, Brenda Angelico Cochran. Tim is survived by his fiancé, Sally Frere; daughter, Kimberly Hayes Backers (Tyrone) and stepchildren, James Kelly Lange (Alexandra), Deborah Angelico Taylor, David Hollon (Keri), Sheila Hollon Watson (Mike) and Tina Hollon Schexnayder (Skip); grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His family and many friends will miss him terribly.

Tim was born December 31, 1944, in Rochelle, IL. He attended the University of St. Ambrose from 1962-64 and then transferred to the University of Arizona. Returning to his hometown of Rochelle, he was a firefighter from 1972-79, leading to his lifelong love of everything firefighting. Tim enjoyed a variety of career moves before concluding his professional career with Monster Beverage as VP of International Operations. Tim's job responsibilities took him around the world, launching his love of international travel late in life.

After his retirement, Tim traveled extensively all across the globe with Sally, enjoying time with friends old and new. He had a passion for fishing, horse racing, golfing, and cruising.

Memorial visitation will be on Saturday, July 2, 2022, from 12-2 PM at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle, IL followed by his "final ride" to St. Patrick's Cemetery for a graveside service. Please visit www.ungerhorner.com to sign the online guest book.
