Rochelle

Venar B. Galland, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at the St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. Venar was born December 1, 1934 to Charles and Illa (Mason) Bouland in Palestine, Arkansas. She married Dale R. Galland on December 29, 1972 at the Church of God in Rochelle. Venar worked for Wurlitzer in DeKalb and then for Eaton Corporation where she retired after 33 years. Her faith and love for Jesus was unwavering and was exemplified in the kindness she showed to all she knew. Venar was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She spoiled everyone of us. Her greatest treasure was her great-grandchildren. She set an example for all of us to live by and our lives will forever be richer because of the life she lived and all that she gave of herself.

She is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Marvin, James, Cleo and Elmer Bouland and her sister, Jewel Weaver.

Venar is survived by her husband, Dale; two sons: Donnie (Swanetta) Burton and Ernie Burton both of Rochelle; her daughter, Pat (Rick Frances) Robles of Chana; two grandchildren: Jon Robles and Jessica (David Hueramo) Robles and three great grandchildren: Maddox and Isadora Hueramo and Stella Robles.

The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, October 19, 2015 at the Rochelle Church of God, 221 First Avenue, with Pastor David Reish officiating. The visitation will be from 12:00 - 2:00 P.M., Monday prior to the service. Burial will follow at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle. Memorials may be made in Venar's memory to Visiting Angels.
