Vera Jane Chambers, age 92, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the Generations at Neighbors in Byron. She was born on April 6, 1924 in Steward, IL, the daughter of Harry and Lulu (Wagner) Andes. Vera Married Ralph F. Chambers on August 12, 1950 in Steward, he preceded her on April 17, 2013. She is also preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Ethel Hanson. Vera loved spending time with her family, playing the piano and singing. She also enjoyed tole painting and sewing.

Survived by her children: Karen Smith of Rochelle, Diana (Ed) Roeder of Washington, IL, and Alan (Mary) Chambers of Kirkland; 10 grandchildren: Dawn (Richard) Johnson, Kris (Bob) Knight, Brian (Nan) Estes, Bethany (Arlan) Dunnum, Jennifer (Joe) Juskiv, Rebecca Ochs, Mark (Sarah) Roeder, Daniel (Aleia) Chambers, Scott (Jeri) Chambers, and Suzanne (Dan) Rourke; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle with Chaplain Judy Williams officiating. Visitation will also be on Thursday from 9 AM to 10AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
