Violet L. Hall, 91, of Rochelle, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Manor Court of Rochelle. She was born July 21, 1930, in Oregon, IL, the daughter of Henry and Olive (Smice) Reed. She married Richard C. Hall on December 27, 1958, at the Oregon Church of God.

Violet was the youngest of eleven children. She spent most of her life raising her family and helping her husband tend to the farm. After her children had grown, she did seasonal work for Del Monte Cannery Plant #109 as well as the seed plant. She then worked as a cashier at Wal-Mart until her retirement, where she earned the star cashier award. She could always be found attending the numerous activities of her children and grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and baker.

Violet is survived by six children, Richard (Rosemary) Hall Jr., Sarah (Randy Dummer) Hall, Sally (Randy) Butler, Roland Hall, Shelia (Jesse) Hoiness, and Randy (Vicki) Hall; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Violet is preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Susan Hall; four brothers; and six sisters.

The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Unity Hospice and Liberty Village for the care they provided to Violet.

A graveside funeral service will take place at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 22, 2022, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Creston with Chaplain Judy Williams officiating.
