Rochelle

VIVIAN M. REED, 93, formerly of Rochelle, passed away Friday, July 4, 2014 in St. Louis, Missouri. Vivian was born January 8, 1921 in Lee Center, IL to Dewey and Elsie (Schrader) Kennay. She was employed at Rochelle Savings and Loan for many years. She married Cyril J. Reed on May 22, 1943 in Louisville, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on February 25, 2004. She was also predeceased by her sister, Mary Distin.

Vivian is survived by her son, Cyril "Gene" (Janice) Reed of Elgin, IL, her daughter, Carol (Dennis) O'Connor of St. Louis, MO, 2 brothers: Donald (Bertha) Kennay of Ashton, IL and James (Judy) Kennay of Rockford, IL; 9 grandchildren: Michael, Matthew, Mitchell, Nicholas and Nathan Reed, Katherine French, Diane Kemper, Sarah and Kevin O'Connor and 16 great grandchildren.

The funeral will be 10:30 A.M., Thursday, July 10, 2014 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 244 Kelley Drive, Rochelle with Father Schuessler officiating. The visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 9 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The burial will follow the service at St. Patrick Cemetery in Rochelle. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church, Hub City Senior Center or Alternative Hospice in St. Louis.
