Wayne G. Pfeiffer, 81, of Ashton, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009 at Rochelle Community Hospital. Wayne was born on July 29, 1928 in Rochelle, the son of Adam and Mary (Sandrock) Pfeiffer. He married Guyla Casey on October 3,1952. Wayne was a lifetime farmer, and especially enjoyed farming with his son, Mike. He was also a veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son Brian Dewayne; sister: Helen; and 2 brothers: Glenn and Kenneth.

Survivors include his wife: Guyla, of Ashton; son: Michael (Joan) Pfeiffer of Ashton;
Stepchildren: Kalah (Mac) McCaskey of McKinney, TX and Maurice (Jean) Stunkel of Palatine, IL; grandchildren: Tyler and Taryn Pfeiffer and step grandchildren: Mark Stunkel, Steve
Stunkel, Chris Stunkel, Karen Viviers, Brian Schaulin, Philip Randazzo, and Anna Marie Lee, Russ McCaskey and Lance McCaskey; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and 2 sisters: June Eich of Franklin Grove, and Irene Lawson of Ashton.

Services will be at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rochelle with Pastor Greg Hoffmann officiating
Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009 at 11:00 AM. Visitation at Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St. in Rochelle on Wed. Dec. 9th from 4 to 8 PM. A private grave side service will be held at the Ashton Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial to St. Paul Lutheran Church or School.
