Wendy S. Abbott, 66, of Rochelle, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Generations at Neighbors Nursing Home in Byron. She was born February 20, 1957, in Sycamore, IL, the daughter of John and Uva (Angell) Vosburgh.

Wendy loved the outdoors, going on drives looking for deer, and her dogs. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and dog mother.

Wendy is survived by three sons: Dan (Amy) Nelson of Malta, Keith (Brittney) Nelson of Rochelle, and Kevin (Sherry) Nelson of Davis Junction; eleven grandchildren: Samantha, Sue, Lina, Alex, Alyssa, Bailee-Jo, Ella, Dakota, Jaxson, Hattie, and Taylor; one great-grandchild, Shelby; three siblings, Judy Whittrock, Melody (Larry) Levi, and Don (Cindy) Vosburgh; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Wendy is preceded in death by her infant daughter, Bobbi Jo Vosburgh.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St. in Rochelle with Chaplain Rick Eldred officiating. Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Kingston Cemetery in Kingston, IL.
