William M. Hubbard Jr., 84, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at the Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, IL. He was born December 8, 1929 in Rockford, IL to William M. and Frances (Patrick) Hubbard. Bill served in the Navy during the Korean War. He married Carol Schumaker on December 10, 1950 at the United Methodist Church in Rochelle. Bill was a life time farmer in the Kings area. He was a volunteer fire fighter for the Ogle-Lee Fire Department. Long time truck mechanic. Bill was a 4-H leader for many many years. He was preceded in death by a son, Boyd, in 1965, a granddaughter, Arica Hubbard, in 1983, daughter-in-law, Judi Hubbard in 1991 and sister, Barbara Sachs in 2013.

Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carol, son: William of Rochelle and his children: Boyd (Jennifer), Jennifer (Tom), Christy, Tommy (Leah) and Lynn (Mike); son: Charles (Lorraine) of Chana and their children: Jacob (Wacey), Andrea (Serge) and George; daughter: Catherine Krabbe of Creston and her children: Bret (Rachel), Scott (Courtney) and Tadd (Roxanne); one sister, Pat Carson, of Rochelle; 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at the Union Church in Lindenwood, Illinois with Pastor Les McClelland officiating. The visitation will be 4:00 - 7:00 P.M., Monday, December 16, 2013 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. Burial will be at the Lindenwood Cemetery in Lindenwood. The family requests memorials to Ogle County 4-H or Ogle-Lee Fire Department.
