William G. "Glen" Rains, Sr., 70 of Davis Junction, IL died Friday Jan. 3, 2014 at Swedish American Hospital. He was born Oct. 11, 1943 in Russellville, KY the son of Timothy and Ina (Morgan) Rains. He married Dorothy M. Hill on Jan. 27, 1962. After working for Nestle for 27 years he retired in 1996. Glen loved spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle.
Survived by his wife Dorothy and 8 children: Steve (Irma) Rains of Bryon, IL, Dwayne (Chris) Rains of Rockford, IL, Novalea (Oscar Gomez) of Davis Jct, IL, Angel (John) Martinez of Ashton, IL, Bill Jr.(Linda) Rains of Rochelle, IL, Mike Rains of Rochelle, Misty (John) Holmes of Davis Jct. and Scott (Kim) Rains of Rochelle, IL; 2 brothers: Harold (Betty) Rains and Mike (Noel) Rains; 2 sisters: Lorraina Butts and Josie Ramsey; 23 Grandchildren; 10 Great Grandchildren, and his dog, Tinker.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday Jan. 8, 2014 at Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle with the Rev. Dr. James Horvath officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 to 7 at Unger-Horner. A memorial has been established. Burial at Trinity Memory Gardens.
