Wilma R. McCandless, 76, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at St. Anthony Hospital in Rockford, IL. Wilma was born on June 11, 1943 to Corbett V. and Ruth E. (Surles) Smart in Pocahontas, Arkansas. She married Cleve J. McCandless on June 10, 1961 in Rochelle. He preceded her in death on December 20, 2009. Wilma worked for Eaton Corporation for many years. She attended Harvest Baptist Church in Hillcrest. Wilma was an avid quilter and seamstress. She cherished Sunday dinners and loving on her grandkids. Christmas and July 4th were her favorite times of the year. Wilma and Cleve enjoyed traveling and visiting family.  Wilma is survived by her three children: Clement (Karen) McCandless, Tina (Kent) Lamb both of Rochelle and Teresa (Darrell) Reed of Pecatonica, IL; eight grandchildren: Clinton (Jennifer) McCandless, Caleb and Colter McCandless, Cheyenne (Nathan) Uhl, Mason and Mandi Lamb, Cody and Kayli Reed; and six great grandchildren: Michelle, Landon, Natalie and Carter McCandless, Olivia and Maddox McCandless.  In addition to her husband and parents, Wilma is predeceased by her brother, Corbet "Rendel" Smart.  The visitation will be from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M., Sunday, March 1, 2020 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M., Monday, March 2 at the funeral home with Pastor Duane Boehm officiating. The burial will follow the service at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle.
